The Uplift Initiative
Empowering tomorrow's leaders through mentorship
Our Mission
We are committed to empowering tomorrow's leaders through the transformative power of mentorship. We believe in the potential that resides in every student, and we exist to uplift, inspire, and guide them on their path to success.
Our History
Our journey began in January 2020 when we officially launched our organization with a mission to make a difference in underserved communities. We started with a service day trip to a local Title I elementary school, recognizing the critical need for more permanent resources.
Over the years, we have proudly partnered with local organizations such as Communities in Schools, Mary's Place, and the Redmond City Mayor's Office, expanding our reach to five Title I elementary schools in Washington State and Utah. Our dedication led us to achieving 501c3 charitable status in Washington state. We're excited to continue this journey in the Los Angeles area, and eager to create a brighter future for all.
What do we do?
The Uplift Initiative provides peer-to-peer mentorship services to high school girls from low-income backgrounds. Our program's goal is to create a network of support and empowerment for these young girls, inspiring confidence in themselves and their dreams.
We partner with Title I schools in the LA area, aiming to uplift these communities by providing easy access to support and resources. Each mentee is paired with a UCLA mentor based on similar interests, with a focus on helping them develop the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full potential.
